The Video Collection

The collection includes over 13,000 films on videocassette and DVD. The videocassettes are in both PAL and NTSC formats, iincluding documentary, feature and educational films. It is a multidisciplinary collection covering all subjects studied in the university.

Searching Films

Search for films in "OneSearch" as usual by title, author or keywords and limit the search results by material type: Videos. Films can also be located by Genre, for example musical films, horror films, comedy films, by searching for these terms in the Subject.


Viewing Films

Viewing stations are located in the Media area in the central wing for use by the University of Haifa community only. The stations are intended for viewing and listening of library items only. Users are requested to pay attention to the usage guidelines posted at these stations. Items should be located via the OneSearch system on the library homepage. 

Borrowing Films - DVDs

- Faculty: 3 days
- Students: overnight Monday-Wednesday: from 17:45 to 10:00 a.m. the following day Thursday: from 15:45 to Sunday morning at 10:00 Friday: from 8:30 to Sunday morning at 10:00

Faculty can reserve films for classroom use at the Media Desk. Tel: 04-8249128 (internal 3128). Reserved films cannot be borrowed. Videocassettes (VCV) Not for loan.

Digital Editing of Videos

Sections of videos can be edited from DVDs and videocassettes for classroom teaching. 
Faculty and students can download selected sections for classroom presentation (not for personal use). Operating instructions are posted next to the editing workstation. Users must comply with copyright regulations and edit short selections as permitted by "fair use".
