Use the Font Bar
As mentioned elsewhere in this Help, text can be edited in certain windows and tabs using the Font bar.
Open/Close the Font bar:
- The Font bar automatically appears at the top of the window or tab when you open an Edit window, Word Chart tab, Diagram tab, or edit the User Layer of a map (Atlas).
- If, for some reason, the Font bar does not appear, on the Display menu, choose Show Font Bar.
- You can also hide the Font bar. On the Display menu, choose Show Font Bar to remove the check next to the option and hide the Font bar.
To use the font bar:
- Do one of the following:
- Select a portion of editable text.
- Click in the window or box where you wish to enter text.
- Select the font, size, style, or color from the Font bar pop-up menus or buttons.
- The Font, Size, and Color pop-up menus are used to select from any font available on your system along with a range of font sizes and colors. A check indicates the current selection.
- These pop-up menus recall the last used setting and not the setting of the current selection. The menu and the check mark indicate the last selection made from the menu.
- Click the Font, Size, or Color button to apply the choices to a new text selection.
- Use the Bold (B), Italic (I), and Underline (U) buttons to apply bold, italics or underline to the text. You can apply more than one style to the same text.
- Edit Window for User Tools: Select the alignment for the text. Available options are left, right, or centered.
- Edit Window for User Tools or Notes: Use the Superscript buttons (arrow up or down) to apply superscript to the text.
- To remove a style, click it again.
