Work with Multiple Notes Files

If multiple User Notes files have been created, there are several options for selecting the file you want to open.

• When editing a User Notes file (Selection>Edit User Notes), the behavior of this option depends on whether or not Reopen last Notes file selected in dialog is selected in the Preferences dialog box (User Notes tab area).
• If this item is not selected, a dialog box opens which lets you choose the User Notes file to edit; this lets you switch between files easily.
• If this item is selected, the dialog box appears only once in a sessionThe arrangement of screen elements when working with Accordance, unless the text in the activeThe application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element tab is from a different corpusCollection of writings. This lets you focus on editing one file without having to choose each time. Until another User Notes file is accessed, the User Notes file selected in the dialog box automatically opens when Edit User Notes is selected.
• Start to type in a User Note pane that is displaying the User Notes file you'd like to edit. The Edit window automatically opens for the User Notes file.
• Select a word or two in the verse to which you want to add the note, then click Amplify next to the desired Notes file in the Library .
• You can also merge two User Notes files into one file.

Caution If a User Notes file is opened in Accordance from anywhere other than the default location (the user's /Documents/Accordance Files/User Notes folder), the file is copied to the default User Notes folder, and any changes you make are saved to that copy of the file (and not to the file you originally opened). This might happen, for example, when working with User Notes downloaded from Accordance Exchange or sent to you from another Accordance user.
