When reading the table below, the “–” symbol indicates instructions to press the indicated key at the same time. For example: –Shift–Ctrl+A means to press the Shift key, Command key, and A keys at the same time.

Select all text or objects

–Shift–Ctrl+A Alphabetize all items in the section of the Library window
Ctrl+B Apply Bold style to the text
Ctrl+C Copy selected text or graphics to the clipboard or a graphic tab
Ctrl+Alt+ C Copy selected text to the clipboard without any superscript characters
–Ctrl–Ctrl+C Copy the selected text as a citation
Ctrl+D Duplicate the activeThe application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element tab
–Shift–Ctrl+D Add a divider to the Library window
Ctrl+F
  • If a Map or Timeline tab is active, opens the Find dialog box
  • If an Edit window is active, opens the Find/Replace dialog box
  • If in the Index pane of this Help, finds the specific Index term
  • If in the Topic pane of this Help, finds the search string in the topic
Ctrl+Alt+ F Search for the selection in a duplicate of the active Search or Tool tab
–Ctrl–Ctrl+F Places the cursor in the Search All box (top right of Workspace)
Ctrl+G
  • In the Diagram tab, groups selected objects
  • In the Library window, finds the next hit
Ctrl+Alt+ G Ungroup selected objects
Ctrl+H Hide Accordance (in OSOperating System X only)
–Ctrl–Ctrl+H Open the Define Highlight Styles dialog box
Ctrl+I Tile the workspaces on the screen, or applies Italic style to the text
Ctrl+J Select a word or inflected formThe word as it appears in the original text, which may be modified form its base dictionary form to search
Ctrl+K Recycle the active tab
Ctrl+L
  • Select A Key Number or lexical formThe canonical (dictionary) form of a word to search
  • If a Map or Timeline tab is active, reopens the last Define dialog box
  • Add/remove a Scripture link in an Edit Window
Ctrl+Alt+ L Select a root form to search
Ctrl+Alt+ M Magnifies the active zone or restores it to its original position
Ctrl+M Put the active tab in the dock (in OS X only)
Ctrl+N Open a new Search tabThe core tab used to search Bible texts, it consists of a search entry area and a search results area
–Shift–Ctrl+N Add a folder to the Library window
Ctrl+O Open an Accordance file as a new workspace
Ctrl+P Print the contents of the active tab
Ctrl+Q Quit Accordance
Ctrl+R Open the Define Range, Define Tool Sets, or Define Group dialog box
Ctrl+S Save a new or changed active tab or workspace as an Accordance file
Ctrl+Alt+ S Switch into and out of the Slide show
Ctrl+T Set the display of the active tab, or the selected modules in the Library window, or styles text Plain
Ctrl+U Edit a User Layer on a map, or a User note or tool, or styles text Underline
Ctrl+V Paste the contents of the clipboard
Ctrl+Alt+ V Paste text into Accordance as ASCII instead of Unicode
–ShiftCtrl+Alt+V Paste and match the style
Ctrl+W Close the active tab or workspace
Ctrl+Alt+ W Close all tabs except the active tab
Ctrl+X Delete selected text and places it in the clipboard
Ctrl+Alt+ X Remove selected verses from a Reference List tab
Ctrl+Y Close the selected pane in the active tab
Ctrl+Alt+ Y Close all panes except the selected pane
Ctrl+Z Undo the last text edit or diagram action
Ctrl+1 Open a Simple Construct tab
Ctrl+2 Open a Greek Construct tab
Ctrl+3 Open a Hebrew Construct tab
Ctrl+5 Display the context of the selected verse
Ctrl+7 Adds or removes a bookmark to the selected verse or article
Ctrl+Alt+ 7 Remove all bookmarks
Ctrl+8 Highlight the selected text with the previously used style
Ctrl+9 Read the selected text audibly
Ctrl+0 Show all workspaces/tabs
Ctrl+Alt+ 0 Hide and show all open palettes, or the control panel for the Slide show
Ctrl+\ Hide the active tab or workspace
Ctrl+? Open Accordance Help
Ctrl+Alt+ ? Open the relevant Accordance Help for the active tab
Ctrl+, (comma) Open the Preferences dialog box
Ctrl+ ‘ (single quote) Open the Analytics Zone for a Search tab, or activates a Search tab associated with an Analytics tab
Ctrl+; (semicolon)
  • Toggle between Verses and Words in the Search tab
  • Change the Tools tab display between the Show pop–up menu options
Ctrl+Alt+ ; Switches the search between words and verses; also adds an asterisk to the Verse search and activates the search
Ctrl+: (colon) Open the Spell checker for Edit windows
Ctrl+` (prime) Cycle through open windows
–Shift–Ctrl+` Cycle back through open windows
Ctrl+. (period) Stop the current action
Ctrl+[ Copy the styles of the selected text (this may not work on all keyboards)
Ctrl+] Replace the styles of selected text with the previously copied styles (this may not work on all keyboards)
–Shift–Ctrl+[ Go to the prior tab (also Shift–Ctrl–Tab)
–Shift–Ctrl+] Go to the next tab (also Ctrl–Tab)
Ctrl++ (plus) Increase the font size in the selected pane of the active tab, or zooms in to a Picture, Map, or Timeline tab
Ctrl+ - (hyphen) Decrease the font size or zooms out
Ctrl+Alt+ + or - Increase (+) or decrease (-) font size in all panes of the active tab
Ctrl+Delete Remove an item from the Library window
