Preferences: Export

Prerequisites for use: None; this dialog box can be opened at any time.        

Use: Sets the Export preferences that affect text exported from Accordance for use elsewhere, whether by copy and paste, drag and drop, or by saving a text file.

Open: Click Export in the list of the Preferences dialog box. The Export area is displayed.

 

Options in the Export Area of the Preferences Dialog Box

Unicode export area: This option relates to Unicode export of text.

Note If working with the App Store version, this option, by default is selected. If you change the export to non-Unicode (by removing the checkmark from the option), you will be sent to our website to download a special installer to install the required non-Unicode fonts.

• Export all characters with Unicode format: When selected, all Accordance fonts are converted to standard Unicode format, supported by OSOperating System X and Windows (unless a default font and color is defined, below). Except for the Strip characters options, this option overrides and disables the options in the Export character pop-up menu (detailed below).
• Use default font: When selected, you can define the default Unicode font for exporting the text.
• Use default font color: When selected, you can choose the color applied to the default font of exported text.

Greek export Area: These options relate to export of Greek text.

• Export characters as Pop-up Menu: Used to specify how any Greek in the text will appear. Available items are:
• Helena: Keeps Greek characters as they are in Accordance.
• SPIonic: Converts the characters to SBL fonts such as SPIonic.
• TekniaGreek™: Converts the characters to TekniaGreek font.
• Graeca II®: Converts the characters to Graeca II which is similar to SuperGreek®, LaserGreek, or Alexandria™.
• Transliteration: Converts the characters to the Accordance Rosetta™ font.
• English: Converts the Greek to a simple English font so it can be saved as plain ASCII text.
• Strip accents and breathing marks: When selected, Accordance saves the text without the accents and breathing marks.

Hebrew export Area: These options relate to export of Hebrew text.

• Export characters as Pop-up Menu: Used to specify how any Hebrew in the text will appear. Available items are:
• Yehudit keeps the Hebrew characters as they are in Accordance.
• Hebraica II™ converts to Linguist's Software's newer Hebrew fonts.
• SuperHEBREW® converts the characters to SuperHEBREW® or Jerusalem™.
• SPTiberian (SBL legacy TrueType)
• Transliteration converts the characters to the Accordance Rosetta™ font.
• English converts the Hebrew to a simple English font so it can be saved as plain ASCII text.
• Strip characters Pop-up Menu: Used to selectively remove accents and marks from exported Hebrew text (and transliteration). Available items are:
• None: Leaves the text as it appears in Accordance.
• Cantillation only: Strips the te'amim or accents only.
• Vowels & Cantillation: Removes vowels and dagesh, but leaves the sin/shin dot, and maqqef.
• All Marks: Leaves only the consonants.
• All Marks, Add Spaces: Leaves only the consonants and adds a space in place of the morphological separators between the words and prefixes and suffixes.
• Reverse direction of Hebrew characters: When selected, the Hebrew text can be converted for use in an English word processor. The right-to-left direction is used for Hebrew in Accordance. When this option is checked, the text appears in an English word processor exactly as it does in Accordance.
