The Israel Folktale Archives (IFA), named in honor of its founder Prof. Dov Noy, was established in 1955, to collect, save and document oral folk narratives from numerous ethnic and cultural backgrounds in Israel and to systematically research them using modern scientific methods.<\/p>

The archives, originally part of Haifa\u2019s Museum of Ethnology and Folklore. They were headed by Noy until 1983, when they were transferred to the University of Haifa.<\/p>

IFA has the largest collection of Jewish folktales and contains over 25,000 tales. The archives are led by an academic committee headed by Prof. Dina Stein.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
