Library Collections

The library staff is at your service at the School of Design library on the German Colony campus and at the University library on Mount Carmel.
Our collection is rich and very diverse in the fields of knowledge of the School of Design, and our information systems and technologies allow you to search for information independently.
You can access all the materials you need through the library catalog.
The University library invites you to enjoy spaces with seating for individuals and groups, equipped discussion rooms, and even dining areas

Sunday-Thursday: 08:00-20:00

German Colony Campus
Sunday-Thursday: 08:00-18:00

Library services end fifteen minutes before the Library closes. Library opening hours

Materials for courses are available through the “Library Course Materials” system and on Moodle.

Book Loans  – You can borrow books at the service desk in the School of Design library and at the loan desk in the central university library.

Request items  – After searching for the desired book in the library catalog and logging in (entering your personal account), you can place an order and choose where to pick it up – at the School of Design library or at the university library.

Returning Loaned Books – You can return the books you borrowed at the loan desk in the university library
or at the service desk in the School of Design library.

Tracking Loan Extension and Return Dates – Books are automatically extended as long as there are no requests from other readers.
Please note: Check the status of your loans at the Personal Account link
to return items required by another reader on time and avoid unnecessary delays and fines.

Reference Desks
Face-to-face assistance at the desk in the German Colony Library and at the reference desk in the Central Library is available on Sunday-Thursday, at the hours: 08:00-18:00

WhatsApp
The library’s WhatsApp service at the number: 054-3933090 operates Sunday-Thursday, at the hours: 08:00-18:00 and on Friday at the hours: 08:00-12:30

Information Specialist Assistance by Email
For assistance in searching for articles and books, you can also contact us by email.
As part of this service, we will be happy to assist in the search processes during the writing of a paper, send you lists with search results, and also three full-text articles.

Personal Assistance on Zoom
You can schedule a Zoom video meeting with us for the purposes of searching and locating information. More information and meeting scheduling at the following link.

In the collections, you will find images, audio and video files, documents, albums, maps, rare manuscripts, theses, dissertations, and more…
All are accessible to the university community freely and online on the library’s digital collections page.
Many of the items are original primary materials in a wide variety of fields studied at the university and can be used for any academic purpose.

You can order scans of articles and book chapters (including the table of contents) from the library’s collection. You can order up to three scans per day for free and receive them by email.

Didn’t find what you wanted in our library? We will get it for you from another library!

The Interlibrary Loan service enables University of Haifa students and faculty to order books, theses, scans and digital files from other Israeli libraries, and scans and digital files from abroad.

The service is free of charge for research and study purposes only, in accordance with the Copyright Law.
