From Idea to Scientific Publication: A Course for Academic Staff

All research students at the university require high-level information skills, including finding published research worldwide, critical reading, academic writing, and familiarity with the world of research journals. The use of artificial intelligence tools in academic learning and research processes is also rapidly developing and requires learning and skill.

Understanding that the need to develop information skills is cross-disciplinary, we, in the library, in collaboration with the E-Learning Unit and with academic guidance, have developed a course called:
From Idea to Academic Publication – Information Skills for Research Students.

The course has four learning units: Information Search and Information Organization, Research Writing, Challenges in Writing, and Engaging the Scientific Community.
A fifth unit focusing on artificial intelligence tools is currently being prepared.
The course is based on active and experiential learning and includes a variety of content: a large selection of videos, interactive exercises, references, texts, and a final exercise.

The course is available for use by any lecturer who requests access to the materials. The course can be run in two ways – your choice:
1. As a course that grants credit points or hours.
2. As a self-enrolled course.
