Creating an author profile

Oobtaining publication and citation information requires precise author identification. Author identification problems occur when authors change their names, when an author name or initials may be spelled in several ways, or when more than one author has the same name.

Scopus and Web of Science offer a registration process which helps to connect between authors and their publications within their databases. Registered authors can add information about publications which are not included in the database but these will not be analyzed for citation statistics.

Google scholar offers a similar registration process and supplies information about citation statistic for each publication individually but without a general analysis.

ORCID integrates publications and enables import\export of publication information to and from WoS ResearcherID, as well as import of information from Scofus AuthorID, but it is not related to citation information.
